The fermacell Flexible Sealing Tape is a specially coated, alkaline-resistant and permanently elastic polypropylene material. It is a component of the comprehensive fermacell sealing system with general building authority test certificate (P-5079/1926 MPA-BS).
Application
The high-quality fermacell Flexible Sealing Tape is for permanent watertight sealing in corner junctions (wall/wall and wall/floor) and for bridging cracks and joints as well as sealing pipe penetrations or drain tubes in connection with tiles, boards and ceramic coverings.
Properties
- Transversely flexible and longitudinally stable
- Extremely elastic, resistant to ageing, high tear resistance
- Sealing against humidity over the entire width of the Flexible Sealing Tape
- Secure connections with fermacell Waterproofing Application and fermacell Flexible Tile Adhesive
- High compatibility:
- Compatible with commercial tile adhesives and solvent-free coatings
- Compatible with silicone sealants
- The substrate is prepared with fermacell Deep Primer (min. drying time 2 hours) and a single application of fermacell Waterproofing Application at least equal in width to the Flexible Sealing Tape
- The fermacell Flexible Sealing Tape is laid in the fresh liquid coat, pressed into place (object must not be sharp-edged) and recoated with the Waterproofing Application.
- After a drying period of at least 1 hour, the second coat is applied
- The application of a 3rd layer is possible, but not necessary. The dry film thickness of the Liquid Film is min. 0.5 mm
- After approx. 2-3 hours, fermacell Flexible Tile Adhesive (or a tile adhesive pursuant to the general building authority test certificate) can be applied to the Waterproofing Application in the thin-bed process.
